In Alabama, there is a novel approach to supporting grandparents raising grandchildren in families affected by addiction. A pilot program in Alabama will distribute $280,000 from opioid settlement funds to support grandparents and other extended family members who have taken on the role of parenting due to a loved one’s struggles with opioid use disorder!
