The PSU Goodling team that oversaw a family literacy grant Connectedly was awarded for several years under the William Penn Foundation was deeply impressed with the Philly Families Read Together program that GrandFamily Educator Dionne Wright Chambers has created. Their two researchers worked with Dionne to create a family literacy toolkit that can be disseminated widely. This is both a huge accomplishment and a compliment to the collaboration and creativity that drives Dionne‘s work in Philly Families Read Together. The toolkit is a comprehensive document with five complete family literacy lesson plans, all based on Dionne‘s lessons and work with grandparents.
